This page will contain tutorials and helpful material and tips that we create or utilize during our project.

Our first tutorial is on carving out a wing design for our glider from the foam. The tutorial shows how we may use a nickel chromium wire mounted on a board to cut the desired shape wing from the foam. It will involve coming up with the airfoil template. This is where we will come up with a new design for our glider using this template and cut out a foam wing using the following method.
 

Our next step after this would require sanding the raw wing carving to the desired size that we can use for our glider. The following sanding technique would also ensure that the two wings we use for our glider are exactly the same shape in size, which is critical to the aerodynamics of the glider.
 

After employing these basic techniques using the tools available to us in the machine shop, we will upload upcoming videos of how our result of the executed techniques above turned out for us.
